I know, you have returned hoping to see that shot of the handsome Mocker...right?

So sorry to disappoint. ha

But rest assured, he is still in 'the hood'..way up atop the tree singing his little heart out
well, except at about 5:30

when he comes right to the fig tree

AT the bedroom window.

uh huh...might as well be in bed with me, right????

throw away the alarm, girlfriend, no longer needed.

So I have just embraced his presence and he is rather growing on me.

What you see up there is the sweetest (no pun intended) gift

from Melanie who has sent many gorgeous items, believe me!

But this one was really thoughtful.

My swap partner in the faux cake project

backed out at the VERY last moment. I was o.k. with that, honestly.

But Ms. Melanie would have nothing of that and sent this tiny, faux

darling of a 'cake'....doesn't it look real??? It's just the smallest thing.

A 4" paper mache box!! BUT THAT WASN'T THE END OF IT!!!

Inside I found THESE!!!!!!

TEENY TINY ITTY BITTY PASTRY CHARMS

AND PERFUME BOTTLE CHARMS!! AND ONE THAT IS JUST A LOVELY CHARM!

Do you see that little morsel third from the left on top??

There are actually teensy cherries in that tart and that white swirl is like whipped cream
WITH A CHERRY ON TOP!!

I am still in awe.

Mr. J. and I just kept holding them up close to our eyes

to kind of squint and then look at each other

and shake our heads.

We just don't know how she made these tiny things.

This is actually a photos of Melanie's I borrowed from her blog
so you could see a nicer photo of her work and the dime she placed for reference.

I LOVE THEM!!

THANK YOU MY FRIEND.

Hi Rella,

See I told you.......embrace the bird! However, the danger here is whether he stays with you, or moves on, and then you'll actually miss his singing.

You are one lucky lady. Those faux treats, small as they are, still look good enough to eat!

Hugs,
Meri

Hello Rella,

Such sweet little goodies! Looks good enough to eat!

Yes, I do buy 2 boxes of washing soda! It's great because I have enough for the next batch! ZOTE is so pretty and smells good to. I am sure you will love your first batch of HOMEMADE laundry detergent! Good luck and have fun!

Hugs,
Maryjane

Rella,
What a great swap partner you got in the end. I am just in awe of her charms. I wish we could all go and spend a weekend near her and take a lesson! I am so glad you got some gifties!
