NATURE'S VALENTINE GIFTS TO ME

Mother Nature is truly amazing!! First of all I have this cactus, (or actually I believe it's considered a succulent) that absolutely refuses to bloom at Christmas. I do the usual practially bring it to near death without water and away from sunlight in the fall, then begin the process of water and natural light, etc. It continues to bloom in February. That's all there is to it...it has a mind of it's own I guess.

The last photo is the huge cactus out in the yard that suffered terribly when we had several nights of frost and over 50 of those "paddles" fell and crashed to the ground. As I looked out to the glorious day yesterday I thought my eyes were deciving me!!! Was that a heart??
Out I go with camera in hand...HOLY MOLY... it IS a heart!! How sweet are these two Valentine gifts??

It is a heart and it is BEAUTIFUL...I would have done the same thing...camera/photos etc. to share with the world.
Last year in Aruba I found a heart shaped shell/rock of sorts on the beach and then spent the rest of the trip looking for more and came home with many...all in a heart shape. It was wonderful !!!!
Maybe that momma heart will have baby hearts...keep watching !!!

Lucky you! Valentines from Mother Nature - the best kind! Obviously the cactus knows you would appreciate it more, blooming late rather than on christmas...

I'm so delighted that you all enjoyed the little prezzies from Mother Nature. I am going to post before the weekend comes and goes about finding hearts.....heart rocks, heart clouds, heart potato chips, heart stains on the floor (Beth-heart shells). It's amazing how often they appear when you are open to it. <3 Rella

What fabulous photos--and the perfect eye to see the beauty. I love the heart. Hmmm--a cactus heart--now that's an interesting combination.

Oh--and I know what you mean about blogs--they're such a fun way to get to "know" people. Such lovely work. Such passion.

Thank you for yours!
