Do you know what these are??

It's my newest hobby.

I think I can safely call it a hobby

since I give it time three times a week

and throw enough cash into it to

ABSOLUTELY classify it as one.

Give up??
They are acupuncture needles.

Are you still upright or have I lost some of you?

Have no fear....they don't hurt...really.

Some pinch a little going in, but it's brief

This is the somewhat comfortable place I lay

for about 35-45 minutes while they are in place

anywhere from 16 - 20 of them.

That baby pillow is mine that I bring with me

the stiff, noisy paper is a pain, however

and I am seriously considering asking if I can

just bring my own sheet and do away with that.

Why am I going?

One of my knees has been acting up for a while (a year)

It could be a number of things (several falls)

however, as it began to get worse and impact my

daily life, I really felt Chinese medicine was a good

option.

So I wondered if my friends in bloglandia would share

any experiences with acupuncture here.

I have never had acupuncture, but my sister and her family use it all the time and swear by it.

It makes sense to me. I think this ancient form of medicine works.

I am sorry you are having pain, Rella :-(
I have had it several times for fibromyalgia pain. I find that it takes me awhile to get over the needles...I am a chicken. It helped and helped me relax. The only problem...I could not find anything near my house and needed to travel across Minneapolis to a suburb on ice to get it. By the time I got home I was stressed and hurting! I also did some Chinese herbal medicine about fifteen years ago. We have some wonderful Chinese doctors who are MD's and trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It really helped at the time but some problems reached a crisis and I had to go back to crisis-oriented Western
medicine. It was so good in helping me and "feel well" and "stay well."
Hugs,
Suz

oh Rella, I loved it and it made a big difference, and most will let you bring your own sheet, helped my neck and back immensely, I highly recommend it if you have a good practitioner! my friend gets it regularly for gout as well and he loves it too...heres to walking easy with no pain and lots of ease!! xoxox

I feel a bit silly for not recognizing the "needles"!
I actually enjoy my acupuncture visits and feel blessed to have a practitioner that is a trained nurse and masseuse, she also does some Reiki ... she has it all going on and I like it!
Sheets are provided no paper anything for my visits which is nice. No avoiding the face wrinkles from the flannel covered donut hole tho LOL.
I go mostly for my back and general well being.
I hope that your treatments are helpful, pain in your knees is no fun at all.
I think it's brilliant that you took photos ... I always want to look up acupunture charts after I've been and use them in some collage.

Take care sweet friend!
Happy Weekend to you and yours!
