SHARING MY KATIE KENDRICK CLASS AT AU
Goodness, is she a darling, or what? This was my first class with Ms. Katie and she is just a pixie!!
The class was entitled,
'Tales from the Land of Odd'
and, truthfully, I packed my bag of tricks
and was totally ready for Land of Odd
because most days,
that is not a lengthy trip for me
and dare I say it is one I make often enough
to have filled my passport .....and then some.
So in Ms. Katie's class, music playing, I totally drifted away to L.O.O.
We were working on three different canvases,
but I was drawn back to one...
ignoring the other two..............
and evidently in another realm all together
as my classmates were drawing and painting lovely pictures
with interesting faces and some
wonderful Chagall inspired work.

NOT THIS GAL...............
In MY mind I already had
In MY mind I already had
- a title
- I already knew it would depict an event at night
- with the moon
and oooooooffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff I went into my own world.
I will share some of my classmates' amazing work first.
beautiful Chagall
more Chagall
and now.................
from the student (me) who clearly heard different music
a piece titled:
At Night, Elephants Play
I'm not sure it is finished
but you get the picture.
So, I had a delightful time with Ms. Katie
I enjoyed the wonderful music and the time to bliss out
and be totally lost in The Land of Odd
What fun!!!

Looks like a fun class. I like what you did while in the land of odd. And yes Katie is a pixie for sure.

Awwww..he is so cute! Looks a little sleepy..so cute. That's what art's all about..each one's different perception.
Take your time choosing your people. I sure did! : )

The Elephant is Slow to Mate
by D. H. Lawrence
The elephant, the huge old beast,
is slow to mate;
he finds a female, they show no haste
they wait
for the sympathy in their vast shy hearts
slowly, slowly to rouse
as they loiter along the river-beds
and drink and browse
and dash in panic through the brake
of forest with the herd,
and sleep in massive silence, and wake
together, without a word.
So slowly the great hot elephant hearts
grow full of desire,
and the great beasts mate in secret at last,
hiding their fire.
Oldest they are and the wisest of beasts
so they know at last
how to wait for the loneliest of feasts
for the full repast.
They do not snatch, they do not tear;
their massive blood
moves as the moon-tides, near, more near
till they touch in flood.
Thank you my friends for your visit and your comments.
Joanna, I wish you would have been there, also. I think of you often and the class we had together last year.
Joanne, thank you for the poetry and remembering that we spoke of it. Really lovely.
