CHASING RAINBOWS

I've posted many times about the presence of rainbow
ALWAYS, always with the rain here in AZ.

It will be 12 years this August that I landed here from CT.

Some elements I love,

and clearly the rainbows that accompany every rain,
remain tops on the list.

Perhaps if it rained often,
even weekly, this might get old

I cannot say for sure since that just doesn't happen.

So when the sky turns from brilliant blue to cloudy gray,

I know I will be chasing rainbows

like I did last Thursday on the way home from the Desk Of Drama.

The mountains are spectacular
and
you really have a sense of their majesty when the sun reluctantly takes the back seat

and gives first billing to the clouds.
(taken with my phone-Dare)
Here I am on one of THE three (only three)
major roads into our town

and the mountains in front of me are to the north.

Up there where the rainbow peeks out and beyond you would be heading to Sedona
then Flagstaff.

I heard from a blogger that it had snowed that day up in Payson.
YES
snow,
in April,
in Arizona.

True to form, the next morning it was blissfully clear,
the air smelled clean and the birds
were excited to have had the bit of water
and all that it brings to them.

A morning that stirs up the desire

to play hooky and enjoy every precious moment.

But the DOD beckons and you do what you have to do,

but not before grabbing the camera

and snapping the sharp lines of

the octillio against the soft cumulus clouds that had developed
due to the overnight moisture from the rain.

We don't often wake up to this sight either.

Such gorgeousness.
