24 HOURS UNTIL THE MAGIC BEGINS

In the twinkling of the night
the name will be drawn.....

Don't forget to leave your comment

in the post below

and tell me

what brings YOU joy

and this little wall hanging

created with vintage lace, ribbons, buttons

and tea dyed silk chiffon

might be yours

a daily reminder
let JOY be your compass

a little give away
What is it about night time
and twinkle lights?

Well, it's magical!

The most magical night here

at Faerieluna

aside from Christmas Eve

is Friday night.

ohhhhhhhh, how I love Friday night.

The work week is over

and the anticipation

of two blissful days sequestered here

is like sprinkled faerie-dust.

The mantle has been cleared of Christmas

but the twinkle lights remain....

the little Patience Brewster faerie remains..

but the rest has taken on a white on white

with bits of green

and at night

the little lights cast a soft glow

throughout the living area.

If I have to come through in the middle of the night

the sweetness of it brings me joy

When I am before the sun is up

to start the day..

the sweetness of it brings me joy.

Yes, the joy factor

and the precious statement

given to me by a sweet friend

continually play in my head

special words that I gathered for 2011

and beyond...

So I continue to surround myself

with little items..

tiny moment of sweetness..

thoughts of my precious children now grown..

and memories made with them..and more to come

memories of childhood..

of running in the woods..

and swimming in the tiny river..

and playing hide & seek

with all the neighborhood children

after dinner and as darkness fell

and lightening bugs flickered about

Then..........and now

sweet moments of joy

my compass

What brings YOU moments of joy?

Leave me a comment about your
special joy or joys

and next Friday night

when the magic time arrives

I will draw a name

to win a little gift

which I am creating this weekend

(a little sneak peak)

Please leave me your e-mail addy

so I can contact the winner

of a bit of joy from Faerieluna

How often do you ask yourself...........

WHERE DID THE TIME GO?

Typically, life events cause me to pause and ponder that question.

Birthdays....my own

my children's...

But not today.

Today I am just remembering

A different version of dreamtravel

This morning I have revisited the home

and fields and woods of my childhood

Happy days and lightning bug nights.

with thoughts of antics with my favorite person in the whole world

before the teenage years arrived

and we morphed into awkward creatures

My brother, Larry.

next in line of what eventually became 5 siblings to me, the oldest.

The photo above is at the New York World's Fair.

I look worried.

Certainly not as gleeful as younger (by two years)brother.

If you are wondering who cut his hair, I am pretty sure it was my father

as I have vague memories of the three boys sitting for Dad,

clippers in hand and hair falling to the linoleum kitchen floor.

we never knew if there would be that telltale nick

in the back of the head that left a bit of white patch.

I really should ask my brother if those hair cutting days were traumatic.

Now if you are wondering who was responsible for my short, short bangs...hmmmm

probably my Mom, but I don't remember.

That curly hair was not natural I can tell you.

Nope, straight as an arrow my hair was and is.

That curl took some doing!!

Pin curls or rollers.

Every day.

Even now it's a challenge to get it to do SOMETHING.

My brother and I were thick as thieves...best friends.

Sharing a huge upstairs bedroom for a little while

and making shadow puppets on the

wall thanks to a nightlight......

laughter always brought Dad up the stairs

EVERY night.

We would get in trouble for playing and laughing and NOT sleeping.

Seems crazy, actually. To get 'in trouble' for laughing........

Good thing Dad is 2500 miles away now, I guess (not really)

I'd be in trouble every day.

MANY times a day.

I wish you a laughter-filled

life.

My dear bloggie friends

I have just returned from

THE PERFECT WEDDING

Insider info: Ryan has a fabulous tattoo of Where The Wild Things are on his upper arm - so these special crowns are perfect. Do click on photo to really take it in.
~~~~~~
There are many benchmarks along the way
of this journey I have known as motherhood
The birth of each of my three children was over the top
The first clutching of my finger by tiny newborn hands
The first smile
The first time they said mommy
The jumping up and down in the crib with a huge smile when you walk into the bedroom...a love fest to the moon and back!!
The first step, which turns into a full out run....
...which tugs at your heart because you know
it's the start...
of the natural process of leaving you
and becoming who they are meant to be.
The moments are captured forever in your heart.
~
This weekend Mr. J and I drove, flew, and drove some 2500 miles
to share in overwhelming joy and love.
The most amazing of benchmarks.
The wedding of my firstborn.
On a most beautiful beach just below Provincetown
called Head of The Meadow
before sunset on a glorious, sunny day
My son gave his promise to his beloved..
surrounded by his and her family,
their closest friends,
and a handful of wonderful beach goers.
I have never, ever, witnessed a more magical wedding.
So with my little Olympus fe-310
I was able to make a tiny video
and slide show
to share with you just a small portion of the
joy and love of this celebration
