FRIENDSHIP, FAERIE & FEATHER

I came across a site when I was researching

the meaning of feathers or finding feathers

....quite fascinating.

Through the ages is appears

that finding or dreaming
of feathers was significant.

"It is commonly thought in most cultures that feathers are symbols

of higher thought, spiritual progression.

The line of thought here is that birds were considered divine creatures

in primitive/ancient cultures because they are creatures of the sky (heaven)

and therefore closer to God.

When you find feathers upon your path

it could be taken to mean that you are on a higher spiritual path
(whether you accept it or not),

and it may be a sign of encouragement

as you philosophically travel on this path.

Finding feathers on your path is also symbolic of having a lighter outlook

on life or a particular situation.

When we see feathers in our midst it is considered a message

that we need to lighten up,

not take things too seriously,

and try to find the joy in our situation."

This morning I equate feathers showing up on our path

to that of friends and friendships placed so perfectly
on the path of this journey.

There have been many dear friends

placed on my path over the years.

When I reflect on the timing

I discover it is always impeccable.

One such beautiful spirit is Terri

we were both members of Paper Whimsy

and more recently,

Marie Antoinette Mail Art group.

Terri and I have exchanged art pieces

and many conversations...

 on being a Mother..

....love

....life's challenges

and I always, always come away with

something beautiful and thought provoking.

Last week I received a package of beauty and friendship

This beautiful banner was inside

I knew the banner was coming

but I had no idea how breathtaking it would be

 Look at the stunning detail

and the pink tulle ribbon holding it together

embellished with darling tulle roses

On one end this beautiful piece

and on the other end.......this one.

Her attention to the smallest detail
takes my breath away

But that was not all that was in the box

oh no.......

sprinkled in the beautiful pink and aqua tissue

were these darling hearts

with a card that is a thing of beauty
and a special note inside....
and this wee glass bird attached to pink ribbon
holding small velvety flowers
along with this beautiful page of German Scrap Faeries
that I cannot wait to use

Then I spied this round box
embellished so delicately...

and had no idea what could be inside....

But did not really want to open it right away

because I just wanted to enjoy the loveliness

of the can itself.

ohhhhhhh, but when I did open it

I gasped!!!!

Terri had created one of her most darling

Faerie Teachers
A Paper Whimsy image

to go into the Faerie School that I am putting together

all because of HER inspiration and amazing video

that she created for us all to enjoy

and you must!!!

and find it on her side bar under

Free Tutorials
Make yourself a cup of tea

and set aside some time...

to watch all of her videos

where she so generously shares several beautiful projects..

all gifts from her heart.

But that was not the end of the gifts in that box
oh no..........

Inside was a most precious tea cup and saucer

 Delicate and so perfect.

Sharing a set with me is what she stated.

A set that seemed to her would be used by a faerie
at a tea party........I agree

and I will think of her, and our friendship
each time I enjoy a cup of tea

and the last......and most poignant gift inside
was this

perfection.

Just beautiful...all of it. What an incredibly touching gift, Rella! Everything is so intricate and beautifully executed.

I love your words about the birds and feathers. The feather is a truly wonderful gift! I read somewhere that birds are symbolic because they mediate between heaven and earth...I love that and it has always stuck with me!

Big hugs,
Suz

Is your baby there yet? I do keep my Soph in a puppy cut. She tangles so easily and I am just not that diligent! I am glad that her training has already started. You are going to adore her...I just know it!

Dear girl! Your sweet post really touches my heart! I love what you have to say about feathers. You sent me a healing feather. I found one just like it 6 years ago when I embarked on my artist journey. To get the same feather from you was amazing! I am so thrilled you love what I sent you. I am so thankful for our friendship.
Hugs,
Terri

Good day,Rella,

Thank you for sharing that remarkable information about feathers. There must be something to their mystery, as most every culture deems them worthy of being messengers. And, I think, most can say that when they find one, they sense a 'whisper' of spiritual knowledge within.

Your gifts from Terri are, well, really I'm speechless! They are absolutely beautiful and cheery. A total delight to receive in the mail. You are very blessed to receive such love. I'm sure she wishes she could have seen your radiant face as you opened them.
Enjoy them!!!

Have a blessed day,
Marianne xo
