SWEETNESS IN THE MAIL

My little girl bird and I were sitting

in the living room this morning

before she headed down to the cafe

for her last day

at the OC gig

and only two days before she leaves this mother bird
who is
trying not to think about that

and the knock came at the door

and she says "packages!"

OH MY!!

Yes, a package from a darling friend in

my Marie Antoinette Mail Art group

who has been spending hours preparing
for her boys to come home

decorating her beautiful home

and making candy

and baking

and shopping

and in the middle of that
she stopped and sent out

this glorious box of treats to me

Now, I will confess, there was more candy
before I took this photo

but little bird and I paid no attention
to the fact that it was still morning

and we dived in

"ohhhhhhhhing" and "ahhhhhhhhhing"

over the amazing toffee
and peanut brittle
and chocolate dipped pretzel sticks

Yes, we were eating candy in the morning!!!!

Included, was this beautiful journal that Terri made

which was her thoughtful way of replacing one I had purchased from her

etsy shop HERE

and had a hard time parting with due to it's beauty.

I am quite lucky

Thank you, Terri xo

Another MAMA friend

sent me a package

last week that was such a lovely surprise...

on the very top was this Holiday issue of Somerset
which I had contemplated picking up a little while ago,

but never did

and now I am savoring every page

along with some fuzzy house socks and

Christmas soaps
(cannot photograph them because they are already being used!!!!)

and the thoughtfulness of these two friends

that I have made through the lovely group

leave me feeling so grateful for friendships
old and new.

and now as I look again at the delight
of toffee and chocolate pretzels....

I wonder when I am going to stop
the sugar crazies I began

when I opened my delicious birthday cake...

Oh, heck, everyone knows

you don't deal with that issue until January!!!
