HELLO MY FRIENDS

Yes, I have been away for a bit.

Little bird come and gone

back to the Drama at the Desk

I've done a few things while absent
all for swaps.

One was a Marie themed birdcage

and using the familiar 'cage for skirt'

I fashioned this little morsel

Although she looks a little lopsided the way I shot the photo

I spray painted a 3" bamboo cage

and cut the opening in the front

a bird nest made from golden Angelina fibers

and the base is a gold painted, wooden candle holder

The torso is from Catherine Moore's

Character Construction stamps

the small Marie paper doll.

I have used this stamp so many times

and just love it!
Her skirt is fashioned from Alencon lace,

three layers of light blue tulle,

then another layer of Alencon for a bustle.

Vingate rayon ribbon and blue feathers top the skirt in back.

Her hair is carefully (and not very cooperative) small white feathers

with a touch of blue flowers.

I felt the 'blinged out' pink sequined bird inside

the cage was very, very, 'Marie'

Off the whole piece went to Tristan

and he seemed happy to receive her.

My bird cage has not arrived yet

as we still have several days to get them mailed.

It's quite amazing, actually, that I am not down to the wire

on any of my projects lately.

I will be back with a few more projects that I have played with since.

Very creative and gorgeous!!! Lucky Tristan!

You asked on my blog how I make the mosaics. I don't use flickr,I use photos from the morgueFile and copy/paste them into Paint Shop Pro on my computer to resize and move them around into a mosaic. Glad you enjoyed it!

Have a great week!
