IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN

Yes, it's here. No avoiding it. Umbrella time.

NO.......

Not because it's raining, although when "they" talk of monsoons your mind's eye has played the unrelenting rain video.

Guess again.

It's that time of year when the sun is so bloody hot you feel your eyelashes might melt...and the really smart folks who love thier skin do everything possible to protect it.
And that means that even at 7:30 a.m., out on the daily walk, you are under the cover of your umbrella.

This morning..not one, not two, but three valiant walkers were spied under various umbrellas (one was black and that one threw me a bit since I believe that black is like a sun sponge) protecting themselves from that fireball in the sky ...AT 7:30 IN THE MORNING!!!!

So this is the one that I think I would like. Or maybe some wild polka dot number.

Either way, you know you live in Arizona when you only use your umbrella
to protect you FROM THE SUN!!!

And Ms. Morganstein, tuckered out from her latest mad dash around the house, up and over the couch, leaping high into the air with the invisible paw springs, looks over at me as if to say

"What's the big deal? I'm comfortable!"
"Now get to work so you can pay the electric bill to keep it at a delicious 79!!"

I just love the vision of all of these folks walking around in the early morn with umbrellas! You don't see that here in Maine!

To my brother, who lives in Tucson, we say "but it's a dry heat". Texas can be a scorcher too believe u me. So far so good though.
